Child Health Plus

Child Health Plus is a New York State health insurance program for children under the age of 19 who are not eligible for Medicaid and do not have other health coverage. It is offered through NY State of Health, the state’s official health plan marketplace, and provides comprehensive coverage through participating health plans.

Eligibility is based on the child’s age (under 19), New York State residency, household income, and whether the child has other coverage. Children may qualify regardless of immigration status. Income guidelines and rules are set by New York State and can change each year, so it is best to confirm current eligibility through NY State of Health or with a licensed agent.

Covered benefits typically include well-child visits, immunizations, physician and specialist visits, hospital and emergency care, prescription drugs, and dental, vision, hearing, and behavioral health services.
